Well, I finally got to shoot a varmint with some of the V-Max bullets I loaded up for my .223. There were a few crows out on my hundred yard range that just happened to sit long enough to flop out the bipod and lay down on the deck. I made the shot with my NEF wearing a Weaver 4x. I went up to inspect the damage and could not believe the carnage these little bullets do. When I rolled the crow over he was completely emptied out, and the spray pattern was, lets just say, impressive. ![]() I'm running a max load of Hodgen BL-C (2) powder, and those bullets are getting down range in a big hurry. Can't wait for the spring to load up a hundred or so of these for the dirt piggies. |

My 223 Rem load for prairie dogs is 26.5 gr of Varget topped with a 55 Gr V-Max. Not only are they extremely accurate, they will vaporize a PD out to a couple hundred yards.

I've got a bunch(1.5K) of 7.62X39 loaded with the V-Max. It makes my little Para-SKS think she's a target rifle. Besides paper, the only critter to cross its path is an armadillo. Lets just say it was ugly!!!!

especially the 65 grain are extremely accurate, easily as accurate as the A-max. to get better bullets, you have to buy custom benchrest bullets.

John I use those Hornady V-MAX in 50 grain weight for my little "Triple Deuce", (.222 Remington) it just hammers predators like foxes and coyote under 200 yards. I will completely evaporate a friggin squirrel at 75 yards. |
