Dunno if fluting does any actual good but I really like the look of it. That rifle is aces.

Seeing as the 10/22 is one of the most customized rifles in the world, I wonder if Ruger would profit from selling the 10/22 action only. Sort of like the AR-15 phenomenon, You start with a bare bones lower and build whatever you want. In the case of the 10/22, one could begin with a stripped 10/22 action and build off of that. End random thought.
In my quest to hot rod mine, I found the last link to best accuracy to be a very rigid stock. Some experimentation with bedding, an action screw pillar, and or a stock wedge may be in order.
I don't know how I missed this the first time around.
