I need to find a piece of laminated wood that matches the gun's stock somewhat. I'd still like a piece of wood instead of that M1 carbine steel.

Someone at another forum copied the photos and you can see a few of them there.

When you see the photos think Spanish FR8 or Lee Enfield Jungle Carbine. The GSR is like one of those rifles, just built new with and optic mount and a cushy recoil pad.

I have always liked the way full military type hand guards feel in my hands compared to grabbing a bare barrel. I would have preferred wood instead of the metal for the gun, but metal was easier. So, the reversible experiment was tried.

The thing that ultimately killed the idea was my eyes couldn't work with the front sight and rear aperture as well anymore, so I was bound for some sort of optic. I blame it on middle age.
