Western Rig for Super Blackhawk

Hello everyone. I'm an amatuer holster maker and I wanted to share a few pics with you all considering the rig is for a Ruger. I recently finished this single buscadero rig for a Super Blackhawk.

Thats way above my current skill level, did you use a pre-existing pattern or draw up your own? Also what weight cowhide did you use, it kind of look's like 9 oz but I'm not sure. Nice quality workmanship with some excellent stiching, I really like the finish you have on the leather and the way you burnished the edges.

I appreciate the kind words. Great questions as well. For the belt I used a template from Slick Bald Customs. Really great quality template and instructions on how to lengthen or shorten a belt based off of the supplied template. The holster I had to create everything from scratch. There's plenty of templates out there for SAA, but not for the beefy Ruger. On the belt and holster I used Hermann Oak B Grade 6/7 oz for both outer and liner. Thanks again!

Thank you all for the compliments. The rig was delivered to the customer last night and it was a great feeling to see the smile he had when he put it on.

An afterthought.....His smile was about as big as mine when I was firing that BFG. I delivered at the local indoor range and I got to put a few rounds down range. Ruger did a fine job!

I've encountered a lot of service men who are into leather crafting to keep themselves occupied. I guess they found out its a stress reliever thats fun like I did.

A huge stress reliever for me. I really enjoy working on every holster I do. I got me some Haggard, Nelson, Cash, and Kristofferson playing in the back ground with an ice cold one to sip on. Matter of fact I'm gonna get off the internet and work on an IWB holster for a Ruger SR9 now.
