I really like the receiver above all else. If I had a half a set I'd wire my All-Weather? The only issue that makes me nervous is I would have to do the barrel too? It's stainless but has the gray coating like the receiver. I make knives on occasion so I have the tools for it. The way yours looks now kinda floats my boat, not high shine, right? I mean are you going high gloss with the whole project? My other concern is I'm picatinny so I would have to take the anodize off all that too. Maybe I just need another 10-22!! ; )

Tony | The receiver is almost frosted. When I applied the boiled linseed oil to the stock I also applied a very thin coat to the aluminum reciever to protect it. You can buy picatinny rails for the 10/22 that are silver. I was going to go that route but the picatinny rides a little higher and I want the scope as low as possible on the rifle. This gun is not going to be a safe queen by a long shot and I expect it to start showing some age soon.

OK, now I finally want a Charger. I thought I wanted one sorta kinda before and was really going to just pass but now I have to have one. And I'm going to do the same thing but in blue and walnut.

My hubby's resistance to all my whining is breaking down, so will soon add a Kidd barrel to my Charger and was thinking the black painted receiver had to go. I'm sure of it, now, after seeing how yours turned out. Thanks for sharing.

I want to get a fingergroove stock for mine that I can cut down. But I don't want to ruin a good stock so I'm looking for one the has a badly broken heel and/or toe.
