Homemade Bullet Trap

Here's a backstop/bullet trap using a 3/8" thick steel plate that my brother made for us so we could shoot inside his horse barn. The area right below the targets is filled with sand. Works with .22, 9mm, .38spl, .45acp standard or target loads and also .22lf rifle at 25 yards. Just a small bit of info here... A 45deg angle will not work. The back plate needs to be at a steeper angle or bullets will just spatter instead of being deflected or directed downward into the sand. The larger calibers usually stay in one piece. Makes it easy to reclaim them for recasting.

Hope this helps!
