This morning I am making an adaptor to mount the rear of my handguard where the sight used to me as my tech sights showed up yesterday.

It was very tight and uncomfortable against my cheek with stock sights but the tech sights fixed that, as long as there is interest I will keep posting until it is done.

Well I ended up doing a lot of screwing around today as I needed some of these for my mini projects coming up and a few extra never hurts.

Here are a couple of the gas block beginnings

I think I will try a walnut handguard tomorrow and see how that goes.

I decided I wasn't happy with the gas block so I took another run at it with a few tweaks.

I don't know why I didn't put the QD on in the first place, it is what the factory used in the rear, I wonder why they only put it on one end?

Wow. I didn't realize you were machining these yourself.

Yep, if you'r going to make something it doesn't hurt if you start with raw materials.

I don't like it but am not exactly sure what to do about it, I think a few glasses of wine and some sleep and I will wake up with the answer.

I had some time this weekend and started working on the pistol grip will make them from aluminum and anodize them black but first I had to figure out how to drill a hexagonal hole 3 inches deep down inside of it to capture the mounting nut. I decided to practice one time in the surface of a scrap so I could watch what I was doing, it worked so we started work on the first grip.

its getting close, but I am waiting on a cutter I found on ebay.

I did order some more barrels but that is stone stock ss from 30+ years ago. I am a "rusty", if I touch a blued gun it will be rusty in the morning, so I have only ss.
