P89 project on the go. I need help with one thing : a threaded barrel

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, if not a mod can please move it.

I've got a P89 that I've inherited from a family member, so needless to say it's sentimental and I've been slowly modding it over the years.

I'm one mod away from getting it where I want it: a threaded barrel.

Can anyone help me source one?

I'll take any thread pitch. 1/2x28 RH or 13.5x1 LH would be ideal.

It can be extended and threaded factory barrels, aftermarket, match grade... anything!

Price is not really of much concern.

--

I have my factory barrel and would send it in for extend+threading, but I'm in Canada so sending it to USA is a pain, and expensive. Nobody up here offers the service.

Importing a barrel to Canada from USA I easy... if I can find one!

Any info would help

PS: I know I mentioned it's expensive to send a barrel, and price is not of much concern...

I forgot to mention the time factor, and risk of losing my barrel to whatever reason: postal error, customs issue, etc...

Replacement barrels for old Rugers are like hen's teeth here, let alone threaded barrels, so I don't really want to let my barrel go on a journey for fear of not having a barrel at all.

You see where I'm going with all this...

Contact EFK Fire Dragon. I don't know if they're still available, but they used to make custom barrels for the P89. The P89 is no longer listed on their website, but it might be worth contacting them. It's a start. Best of luck with your project.

No reply from EFK yet... I will try again.

I did manage to find a gunsmith that is willing to make a threaded extension. He started off with this look and I showed him some pics of extensions done by ADCO and we got to this look

His main concern was having enough material to be safe... I convinced him that it'll be my problem, not his.

He's a rifle guy, so this is on the back burner until hunting season is over. I hope to have it in January sometime.

I'll post pics when I get the barrel back.

This is just one more push towards me investing in a Lathe and Mill. I can do this stuff myself with the right tools.
