P89 hammer query

I would like to have a spur-less hammer on my p89. My question is: should I cut the OEM hammer, then round it off? (Are there any hazards to this?) Or, would a p89DAO hammer fit with little or no receiver modification? It could be easier to simply drop a p89DAO hammer in a manual safety p89. But, if I have to cut into the frame, removing the spur might be better. Any experience? Thanks, guys.

I apolgize if this question has been asked recently. I did not turn anything up in a search.

Very interested in your reasons for wanting to do this. Please advise.

Sorry, it's been a while. I took the hammer out of the frame and used a dremel to cut the spur. This is the result:

I cut the hammer spur to save the web of my hand. Every DA/SA spurred hammer pistol I've shot has bitten into the portion of my hand that's pushed into the apex of the backstrap. I usually don't notice until after a long range day. The p89 has been tested and I am happy.
