America it was in 5/4 x 5.5" stock used for decking it is very dense and is reddish in color my neighbor has been making knife handles very nice I think I might have a piece of beautiful burled walnut and several big burls off of wild cherry that I have not sliced yet , when I cut it and its quality is good would be happy to send you some and see what you do with it have some spalted maple has well .
