Take a look at the Charter Arms Pathfinder series. You can get one in stainless steel for about 300 bucks. I have the Pathfinder combo, (.22Lr & .22WMR) and it's a very fine example of an accurate, well built easily affordable revolver. The combo runs about $100 to $150 higher. Made right here in the USA too! (not far from my house) I have nine different Charter revolvers and all have performed flawlessly, not a single problem with any of them. Quality doesn't always have to be expensive. The Taurus 92 is another example of an affordable quality .22 revolver, you can get one BNIB for around $350 + or - a few.

Yes, the price of .22 revolvers has been getting higher in recent times. I was also on the hunt for a good .22 revolver and settled on a 4" Taurus 990 Tracker after shooting several others. The Taurus 94 is small and has a stout double action pull. The 990 has a bit more size and a much smoother DA pull and seems to improve with use. It isn't a S&W but it is half the price and is a good value for the money. I would recommend it highly to anyone seeking a more economically priced D.A. revolver.

Does it have to be a new gun? I prowl the pawn shops and bought a S&W K22 (pre-17) last year for $250 that looked like @*%$ but is my favorite plinker ever. It may even be my favorite revolver period. Man does that gun shoot nice! Seems like you could do better on the used market if you look long enough and wait for the right opportunity to come along.

I got one with the 22LR wheel only for south of this but they are good folks to deal with. Shipment is fast and if they have questions/issues they call.

If your heart isn't set on a revolver, consider a Bersa semi-auto for about $225.

Oakwell Armory near me has the Heritage Rough Rider with 2 cylinders, one for 22LR and one for 22magnum with the 4 3/4" barrel for $175 and change.

Never owned one but shot a couple. The 22 mag is a blast [pardon the pun].

Look at either Charter Arms or Rossi. I've never owned them, but have shootin' buddies that have them, and , for the money, they claim they're unbeatable.

Single 10! More shooting. Less reloading.

What does "affordable" mean to you? I have an Iver Johnson breaktop that cost $100 used. A Heritage Arms Rough Rider that was $220 new. And a Taurus 94UL that was $315 new.

There are plenty of sub-$200 used revolvers out there. If you're looking for a $30 revolver, you need a Tardis to travel back about 50 years.

I have seen a few used H&R 22 revolvers in the pawn shops here for just under $200, asking price, and a few Hi Standard Sentinels for just over $200. I picked up a nice High Standard Double-Nine a year and a half ago for $140, OTD. Seems like the prices on 22 revolvers is going higher and higher.
