Sometimes it will be my S&W M&P .45, or my Kimber TLE II .45. Both will be loaded with 230gr. Federal HST`s.

12 ga Pump Shotgun!

I figure it will serve just fine --- if, God forbid, I ever needed it....

...and I may not have to use it after the sound of "racking a round" echos through the house...

...and I don't have to worry about hurting any of my neighbors in their homes if I set off a few rounds of birdshot in my home.

...and I figure that the cops would most likely "impound" it until after the "hearing" --- if I used it --- and I don't want to be without one of my good revolvers while the politicians screw around trying to decide if the "shoot" was justifiable....

For the past couple of years, I've kept a .40 S&W semi-auto beside the bed, usually a Walther P99.

BUT - for more than a decade, my bedside gun was a Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt.

I never felt under-gunned with that big revolver, and it was one of the few guns I've owned which ALWAYS went bang.

Plus, you could beat someone to death with it when you ran out of ammo.

Remington 870 12 ga, 18" barrel - 00 buck
GP100 - .357 hollowpoints

So far haven't had to use any in the middle of the night. But those coyotes sound like they're getting closer to the ranch every evening.

Winchester 3 1/2" 12 gauge with 3 1/2" BB, for the initial encounter, then my .50 cal muzzleloader is not far away ......I don't like to wound anything.
I figure that if i determine i have just cause to engage...i have just cause to finish. I have to remember i don't live in Texas....maybe i should

My 3" GP100 (my only pistol) lives under my bed. It's a good feeling.

3 Drawer method

I keep a Taurus airweight in nitestand, Glock 19 in next drawer & Taurus 1911
in the third drawer. No matter what I pick up, I know by the handle what I
have in my hand...
Thanks, Steve
