Kel-Tec PMR-30

Has anyone looked into buying one of these pistols? The Kel-Tec website lists the MSRP at $415.00. I was looking on Gunbroker.com and about the least expensive one being bid on was around $630 and the highest bid was $899. There was also one with a "buy now" price of $1400. Amazing!!!

I asked my LGS over a year ago about one of these. The guy told me they had issues and had to be worked on? They wouldn't even let you put in a order. I've followed them online and missed the boat on getting one for less than $500. I thought it would be pretty awesome to own.

Re: Kel-Tec PMR-30

I'm not sold on Kel-Tecs but Guns & Ammo has a good article on the PMR-30 this month.

I'd only pay $500 or less for one, IF I ever bought one. Kel-Tec has too many quality control issues.

The initial run of them had problems with keyholeing, has since been rectified. My brother got one and loves it, weighs about as much as a watergun when empty.

Do you know what he paid for it?

Only put 100 rounds through one, but it was a big hit at the range. It belongs to a friend of mine, but at least 8 people offered to buy it off me..lol

Bidding on one right now at my LGS. They have an online auction, which if I win I can just drive down and pick it up Monday. I won't go over $700, which I wasn't going that high, but who knows if they will drop much in price if you can even find one?

Worst case if I don't like it, I should be able to recoup my money.

I got lucky and got one last summer for $358ish after tax from my LGS. It's a great gun, and fun to boot, but I'd never pay more than MSRP for one.

Although, the fireball coming out the end of one of these when you touch em off, are quite impressive.

I've never seen any of the *cool* Kel Tecs around here. I'd love to buy or try out the PMR-30 and the Sub-2000. I have a PF9 and it's been solid. I like the ad for the PMR-30 in the gun magazines comparing it to an AR mag's weight. Cool gun.

I had a keltec p3at and a pf9, both were awful to shoot. Both had awful DA triggers, and awful muzzle flip. I sold both of them because I wasnt paying for an upgraded trigger and recoil springs because the guns werent worth doing the work on.

Sorry, but it isn't even worth the retail price in my opinion, i have seen too many terrible reviews on them and the one i have had a chance to mess with. Check out nutinfancy's review, even the new guns that were supposed to not jam and keyhole still jam. And the accuracy is just not there. I was very excited when they came out, because it is a perfect gun for packing here while elk hunting, very light, high cap so you don't have to carry extra ammo, plus we can legally shoot mountain grouse with a rifle or pistol here (because they don't flush or fly, so a shotgun is hard to use on them) but i didn't see the level of accuracy needed to clip a bird's head off at 30 feet. IMHO. If they fix these problems, i would LOVE one. And i am not one of those that thinks its popluar to bash Kel-tec, i am a fan of several of their guns.

I was at a local gun show a week ago.

I guy had one for sale. He wanted $800 for it and 100 rounds of ammo. Near as I could tell, it didn't sell.

It appeared to be a potential "undocumented" type of sale.

My brother in law had one and loved it. This despite the fact he claimed the barrel heated up too quick and degraded accuracy. To each their own.
