Just another comment about Glock triggers .... The center portion of the trigger is a latch. When the trigger is forward, the plastic trigger's latch prevents the actual trigger from moving to the rear. The only reason it is there is to prevent the gun from discharging when dropped. It is a safety device but not at all like a real manual safety catch that prevents the trigger from releasing the striker. Ruger SR9s have the same trigger latch for the same reason but they also have a real manual safety catch.

Azgunner is on a distinguished road
I have to agree that carrying a 1911 in condition 1, (round chambered, cocked & locked) seems to me to be a perfectly safe way to carry. There are a lot of things that have to happen for that gun to fire. As well, the single action allows for quicker engagement as soon as the safeties are deactivated. No long unnecessary trigger pull.

I have an all steel Kimber Compact that has a 4" bbl. on an officer's frame. The officer's frame helps a little on concealability. It's a little on the heavy side for CCW, but then again I usually open carry. It's one of the nicest guns I own.
