Bought this the other day at a great price. Previous owner said he put 20 rounds through the gun, then it sat in his safe pretty much ever since and he had it at two other gun shows where I saw it, and didn't act on it.
Wasn't going to wait anymore...very happy with it. Shoots VERY accurately, and just seems to point naturally. Man that John Browning new what he was doing!

Beautiful! Everything I've seen (on YouTube) or read about that gun gives glowing reports of it's accuracy and solid construction.
Truly one of the classics!

Congrats! The Hi Power was the first handgun that I ever shot, almost 40 years ago. You'll enjoy it.

Classic. Another JMB jewell!
I like Glock's and such as tools, but the "Tupperware" can't compete with bluesteel and walnut......

I lusted after one for many, many years, but simply couldn't bring myself to pay the tab.
Finally decided that I absolutely had to have one when one came along at a price that was only a little more than I could "afford" figuring it was now or never.
Bought it. What a wonderful follow-on to the 1911 guns. Happy camper, I am.
While it's true that JMB wasn't in the design effort thru final completion, his influence is just all over that piece. |

Heck yeah, the GP is my weakness for sure, I never met one I didn't love. I particularly like the T series and the Candian built Inglis HP's.
May I ask if yours is Portugese stamped? You have the later series adj sights but a transitional period box so I'm just curious.
Nothing much really excites me in the gun world any more except of course the HP.

Congrats,
You can't beat a Browning Hi Power. They are one of my favorite semi autos along with the 1911's another J.M.Browning design. They'd be some of the last guns I would ever part with.

Wow that's a cool gun. I'd love to shoot one of these but have never even seen or held one. I like my SR9c well enough, but not as much as the SR1911. In my mind I imagine that a Hi-Power is a lot like a smaller 1911, and if that's true I'd love to pick one up someday.
Any reason there are not as many Hi-Power type guns as 1911s? Great find. Enjoy it!

I'd love to have one. I saw where the United Kingdom Armed Forces were replacing their's with Glocks, but knowing them they'll probably destroy the Brownings.
