Birthday Suprise - Uberti

Today is my birthday and my wife gave me a present around lunchtime. I was totally surprised to see that she had remembered a stop we had made at a pawn shop/gun store some time ago and saw this used Uberti 1873 Cattleman 7 1/2" barrel pistol in .45 LC complete with holster/belt rig. It was in excellent condition and I remarked that it would be neat to have a western looking outfit like that.

I took it out by the house after giving it a cleaning and fired 6 rounds at one of my left over targets from the Summer Contest. Ammo is not cheap! I did better than I thought I would with the rear notch sight and it seems to be right on.

It's not a Ruger, but it seems well made and I have never had a Uberti before.

Happy Birthday and many more!

Very nice looking "frontier cannon" and gun rig, looks like a good shooter too!

I have a 7 1/2" Ruger NM Blackhawk and I love shooting the .45 Colt cartridge even if it does cost a dollar a bullet with store bought rounds

Good luck with your new Uberti & happy shootin'!

That's a fine birthday present from a wife who knew how much you'd appreciate it. FWIW, like your wife it's a "keeper". ;0)=

I recently got a .45 LC. They are expensive to shoot, but I just buy high quality ammunition, and I save all of my spent brass. Reloading sounds like a fun hobby, and it will be my next one. I will only reload .45 LC, so it should be inexpensive to buy everything for just one caliber. Awesome looking rig by the way. I love the look of it. Looks exactly like a Colt.
