| Browning 1911-22
just figured id post a couple pics of a neat little .22 i bought a couple months back. tears down like a 1911, but its scaled down to maybe 75% in size. function like a standard 1911 as well... grip safety, single action, and cocked and locked capability. its sights are GI style so it aint a target pistol by any means, but it sure is fun. the frame and slide are made of 7075 aircraft grade aluminum alloy, so ive been told it will hold up over the years as long as i dont feed it hyper velocity ammo.
the first couple mags thru it there were a couple failure to feeds, but since then its been 100% reliable with various ammo. my youngest daughter has had a blast with it (as have i) shooting paint cans, milk jugs filled with water and red food coloring, etc.
my only gripes are the price(oh well), the grips are plastic and i doubt i'll be able to find something fancier for it, it only came with one mag, but im sure i will find another one online.
otherwise its been a great addition to my collection... made in America. it has managed to take the seriousness out of shooting and brings back the fun.

I got to try one like yours as well as the "commader" model which is even smaller at a product test day when they came out. Very nice gun, and very accurate.

ahhh crap, why you'd go and show that? I love my SR1911, and still love my Browning HP. My 22/45 does a fine job of impersonating both with cheaper ammo - but man that Browning 22 would be nice. I can't go shopping too soon because just bought XDs two weeks ago and had bosses blessing on that - not sure I'd get another pass |

its even better in person. i found it at a sporting goods store an hour from home and actually walked out without it. for two days it bugged me, so i called em up and asked if they still had it. sure enough it was there, so i told em to hold it and said i was on my way. the biggest selling point was not that it was a "mini 1911" chambered in .22lr, but the fact that it was a "mini 1911" chambered in .22 that was made in Utah...that just seemed fitting. i swear i was like a kid at Christmas....i had it tore down and inspected while going down the interstate. LOL

Built by the same Salt Lake City company who makes the Buckmarks for Browning.
Don't see a whole lot of mention by buyers, but so far it looks positive.

Congrats on your new Browning! They are one sweeeeet little 1911! I was just looking at & handling one last week at my local GS and it feels nice & tight. If you contact Raasco grips and ask about a set for your Browning they might be able to make up a set for it. Everything they do is custom and their grips are absolutely beautiful and very affordable. They have new Ruger 22/45 grips available now so theres a good chance they can do something for your new Browning.

Saw your post and had to chime in - nice piece! I actually shot one today that belongs to my mother and it is a lot of fun. The only problem we had was remembering to keep the grip safety gripped tight enough. It's so light and small you can hold it without keeping the grip safety squeezed and then you think you have some kind of fail to fire. No fault of the gun, fault of the shooter! Couple of times the slide failed to lock open after the last round but no big deal. What a sweet little pistol. Mom's Buckmark is now languishing in the gun safe since this one showed up!

It's "Morgan", not Morgon, the pistol doesn't say it's MADE there, Browning manufactures nothing at all, and the company in SLC is ATI, Inc.

I got to look at one at the LGS, I liked it...as I recall the price tag was around 500 bucks. Bit much for a .22RF pistol....nice pistol though...

| browning 1911-22
I bought my wife a browning 1911 22, to replace her bretta neos, that gun was too heavy for her. At 79 years, she has a blast shooting the browning, I have a hard time getting it away from her so I can shoot it. With over 1100 rounds through, no failures of any kind so far.
