I have a chance to buy a CZ82 from my boss at a very good price (he has 3). Anyone have actual experience with these? It sounds like an interesting pistol that would be enjoyable to shoot. Ammo locally is 10.89 a box.

I never shot CZ82 but have 2 other, newer CZ semi autos and they are excellent guns. Reliable and very accurate. I have over 10,000 rounds through them and not a single failure, except for one broken recoil spring.
CZ82 is similar to the famous Makarov. Very simple design. Should be equally reliable and accurate. Would be an excellent CC pistol.

I have a CZ-82, and it is a hoot to shoot! Fun accurate little pistol, Mine has one of the smoothest, easiest double action trigger pulls that I've ever seen. and the single action is without a doubt on of the the best, almost as good as either of my 1911's and believe me thats saying something. If hes offering it to you for 220.00 or less buy it, they've been going for around 220 on line so if hes asking that or less snatch it up. trust me you'll like it.

If you want to add a Makarov to your collection, you can't go wrong with a CZ. My 75B is very accurate and totally reliable.

Here is a place to check the pricing on CZ-82s. CZ Surplus
Add to it S&H plus the transfer fee for your local FFL, and you will know if your boss is cutting you a good deal or not.

Excellent guns! I love CZs.........I had a Makarov,I sold it and kept my CZ82.
I also have a CZ85b and pre-B 75,my go to 9mm's. Also have a CZ83 .32 acp and it's a really good CC gun.
My CZ82 eats up cheap Wolf 9x18 steel case all day long!

Looks like the gun is in very good condition. And accurate too.
Is your boss selling another one for that price? |

The CZ82's are one of the best "sleepers" on the handgun market today........If you have a C&R FFL you can buy them direct from the distributor.
I'm short on funds, and I already have one, but at some point I would like to add a few more 82's to my collection.
9x18 is cheaper than 9mm Para, if you buy the steel case stuff. Plus 9x18 is getting to be mainstream, kind of like 7x62x39, and so there are some self defense loadings for it available........but I haven't tried any of them. 9x18 is a decent little round for SD and affordable enough that a working guy like me can afford to train with it, unlike .380.......look around for deals on the 1,000 round cases of Brown Bear, Wolf, etc.
I am a wheelgun nut, so it says a lot that the CZ82 is one of the few autoloader pistols to find a place in my handgun collection......the other is my CZ85 and 75. CZ's are excellent pistols and I would gladly own more of them.
There's a guy on GunBroker who's selling a bunch of used .380 CZ83's, (same gun as the CZ82) for less than $250, I may need one of those next! Then I'll complete my "set", the .32 ACP, .380 and the 9x18! The .32 ACP CZ83 is rare in the US, along with the rarer new production CZ83's chambered in 9x18.

I picked mine up from AIM surplus for around $200+ shipping...and with Silver Bear being at $11.99 /50 at my LGS it's a lot of fun to shoot for relatively cheap.
Mine doesn't seem to like Hornady XTP HP's...but CorBon PowRball and Buffalo Bore FNHC feed reliably with no issues. Hornady Critical Defense 95g is also available. Spare 12 round mags can be found from a few different sources as well.
They're a great little gun to just plink with, keep as a "beater" gun or use as a SD weapon. Either way you can't go wrong with that little makarov.
