| Reputable pistols?
Going to my first gun show this weekend to maybe trade or buy. I know ruger is amazing. I know some other gun makers too look for, such as s&w, colt etc.... basically all the big ones. Who else can I look for in the 300-600 dollar range that might make a reliable, accurate pistol? Thanks!!

I'm very pleased with my SP101. You can't go wrong with it.

Ruger, XD line and M&P line especially the M&P Shield. But then it really depends on what your going to be using them for.

I'm pleased with my Springfield XD40. Just know upfront that the XD line of firearms are made in Croatia, branded and sold in the US by Springfield. Springfield makes no secret of the heritage as it is marked on the firearms.
They are quality firearms designed for use by police and military in Europe.

| Glock. It's what the XD line, and so many others are trying to emulate. (with a lot more useless parts to avoid copyright issues.)
Known for solid reliability, that's why they're so common in professional service, as well as a huge fan base for target range & SD owners.
I first bought a Glock 23 40cal., since it's the main FBI issued model. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me! Along with the FBI choice round of Winchester PDX1, for SD carry.
I've never had any failure from my 23 or my 27, with many different brands & types of 40S&W rounds.
Fancy looking? No. Solid function? Absolutely!
I'm no "pro." Just a big tech geek that knows machines and reads a lot.
I figure that's worth 2¢

The XDs are very high quality guns. I have never owned a Glock but there is a big difference in how they feel. Both are good options. Also, don't forget Beretta.

Dave ... I would add a CZ 75b and/or CZ SP-01 to that list of must look ats. Excellent pistols at a very modest price |

I would get a Ruger Mark III or a Browning buckmark both awesome reliable guns and fun to shoot. Everyone should have one.
