Whatever you do,DO NOT BUY ANY CHIAPPA FIREARM.Customer service sucks, and if you are lucky enough to get a reply from them it's BS. I have been dealing with these people for 8 wks. They have promised me a new gun,But,they won't tell me when I will get it.

I first bought a Glock 23 40cal., since it's the main FBI issued model. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me!
| Yep!

My statement would be who doesn't make 'em in that price range. The CZs have been an attractive good rep shooter. I really like my wifes Rock Island 1911 compact. Very good shootin gun. But then I carry and SR40................hard question to answer.

If you can find a Sig in the 500-600 range, jump on it

My advice would be, don't go to buy or trade this weekend. Go to look and research. Go handle the pistols and find out which ones you like the best. Then go home and research the crap out of it. If you like what you find out about it, take your time and shop around. Being in a hurry to get one can be your biggest enemy. Most likely, you can get the same or a better deal at one of your local gun shops.

Thanks!! | Outside of Ruger, the Sig. 2022 is a very nice weapon in the $400 even range.
I just think it's hard to beat the SR9c for the money. Very versatile with the 10 & 17 round mags, CCW & home defense. You have got it all in 1 attractive package!

OF course- Ruger. Also, I'll second the Sig SP2022. I love mine. For concealed carry- Kahr CM9 or CW9.......

Best value in a pistol of those that I own (SIG, SA, Colt, Ruger, Para) is my Stoeger Cougar. They come in 9,40,45. It's basically a Baretta design & tooling just made in Turkey by Stoeger (who's owned by Baretta)
Mine is a 40S&W. It has NEVER failed to eat anything & everything. It has been 100% from day one. It's very easy to clean and the finish they use is one of the toughest I've ever had.
Got mine for $365 NIB. I've never seen a bad review or unhappy owner. |

Go to you local range and rent the ones you are interested in. For theat matter, rent some of the others you hadn't considered.
Get to know them.
How they fit in your hand, if an automatic, can you reach what you need to?
How's the weight? Can you comfortably hold and aim it?
How does it handle the recoil?
Does it suit your needs for a weapon.
take your time and be sure, a lot is riding on what you pick.

SIG P220 ...I have several and they are quickly becoming my favorite carry weapon. I had been carrying a Kimber .45 ...but the P220 is edging it out. As others have said the SP2022 is great for its price. Academy runs them on sale for $349 and are $399 everyday. Browning Hi-Power is another favorite. You won't go wrong with a HK either. . |
