The worst handgun you ever owned

Mine would have to be the HK 4.I waited almost 25 years to get one from the time I first saw it in the 80s,and when I saw one in my LGS I had to purchase. It took about 6 months before I first had an opportunity to shoot it.Well it did not go bang when I tore it down to try and see what was wrong I found that the firing pin was snapped off.I ordered one from numerich{luckily they had it} and installed it.Finally it goes bang but only for 2 rds every time even with a different mag same result. And this was a gun that was a commeritive gun with gold accents and a presentation box and the pistol looked to be unfired.I then proceeded to switch the pistol to its 22 barrel and see if it would fare any better but with 22 it would fire one rd and stovepipe. And nothing I tried worked.Needless to say I got rid of it.

Raven .25 semi auto. Might fire once in six rounds, might not? No returns, no CS, no nothing, threw it in the river and cursed it everyday for weeks...... ; )

Walther/Smith (Umarex) SP22 M4. Ok it wasn't actually mine, but it was a close friend's and I helped her out trying to make it shoot..

Miss feeds 3 of 10 rounds every mag.
Extractor failure another 3 of 10 rounds.
The other 4 were light primer hits..

Spent alot of time working on that gun. ONE time it shot a whole mag without an issue. ONE Time only!

Ohh yeah, and inaccurate.. No where near what my Mark III hunter is.

The SP22 got traded for a Ruger SR22Pistol

Uberti .22LR revolver. I think the timing is off as it often jams.

I've owned 3 handguns in my lifetime (only 21 years old)

Ruger GP 100
Ruger Single Six
Heritage Rough Rider

I traded the Rough Rider in for the single six, but it wasn't THAT bad. Of course the Single Six and GP 100 are perfect so I guess i've been lucky!

Aha, finally an easy one.

For many, many years I had lusted after a Beretta 951 the original "Brigadeer".

When the Egyptians sold off their "Helwans" or "Maadi's" as surplus a couple of my friends bought them and they were terrific guns and cheaper than a Beretta. I had to wait to order one and that was a mistake. The distrubutor claimed to have more surplus models. I ordered one. It wasn't surplus, it came from their new commercial "Screw The Yankee" product line. after initial field stripping I banged the upturned frame on the table and enough filings and shavings came out to melt down and make a Baby Browning .25, the only bonus feature to the gun. The grips were warped and cut my hand when I shot which was not that serious since a pistol that will not stay on a paper plate at 25 yards holds little interest to me. That was after I finally figured out the "Kentucky elevation" (windage was easily handled by moving the fixed rear sight with my fingers) . Of course that was only when it chose to feed from the magazine.

However, serendipity came along and put a silver lining to the cloud. For some reason, the biggest "interesting" <cough> a-hole<cough> person I knew was leaving town for good and wanted to buy handgun for some reason and our local shop had nothing that appealed. Somehow he came to me and I was able to unload the gun to someone I disliked and would never see again (Do not rail on me, I have never sold any other gun, and I rarely sell any, without admitting it was a dog and taking my lumps, but his guy deserved it, it was "the perfect moment in time") To ice the perfection of the moment, a bunch of Belgian made Argentine Highpowers turned up, and for a ridiculously low price, just slightly more than I got for the Egyptonine. That HP is probably one of the best guns I own.

Taurus PT-25. My first "auto" a long time ago.

I had to shoot it on a regular basis just to remember where it would hit, 'cause POI had nothing to do with the sights.

It was no fun to shoot, but it was a pretty little thing and it never malfunctioned. (Its only redeeming qualities)

I traded it in on my GP-100 last month and am glad I did.

Colt Trooper MKIII 22 cal. Bought the darn thing on Gunbroker, suppose to be 98 per. Shot it with all kinds of ammo and it peels lead in the cylinder chambers. Sent it to a Qualified Colt smith who took my $200 and did not get it fixed. He got sick, kept it for 6 mo. Finally had to drive 3 hrs. to get it back. Took it to my next gun smith who could not figure it out either. Finally he suggested to send it to Colt for repairs. Been there for over a month with no word yet. I could have bought 2 brand new RUGERS with the money I wasted on it. Good thing my wife is understanding. I now own only RUGERS.

Kahr PM-9. Many like and swear by them but me nor my friends could get the thing to work even a little bit reliably. Sent it back 4 times. The Customer Service was good and even the Service Mnager got involved. He thought it might be the high humidity here in Florida that was causing the problems. Finally they sent me a new one that had the same problems. Then they sent me the Kahr of my choice that I traded even for a Glock 26. To this day my friends and I are amazed that so many people swear by their Kahrs.
