Iver Johnson Target 55A .22

i'm looking for a cheap .22... i would of course like a Ruger, but i came across this on a local (ohio) gun forum as was wondering if anyone had an opinion on it.
is it a decent plinker? reliable? known issues? things to look for? etc...

it's in what appears to be excellent condition.

Iver Johnson Target .22 Cal Revolver Model 55A
4 1\2 inch BBL. 8 shot with Target grips. original box and papers.
asking $200

any input (good and bad!) is appreciated.

thanks

Seems like it is old. From what I read they stopped making them in 1978, that was a long LONG time ago. If it is in good condition, seems like it would be a good buy. I kind of like the look of it. Sometime I want a .22 double action revolver

I have a double action 22lr I just took my ccw class with today and made a perfect score with! Grant it it is a H&R 22 revolver but looks exactly like that. I really like it. I'd say the Iver Johnson is a better quailty but its looks identical to my H&R. dunno if I'd go 200 on it since you cant find anything on it, can you buy parts for it?

I've got one that is slightly newer. Shoots very well. I really like mine. I paid $100 for mine but that was about 8 years ago. Cheers.

I have a sealed 8, it is a beast; I expect this model will be also.
Interesting to play with though
