Congratulations on your new RIA pistol. I love my 1911 .45 for the thump it delivers. The 10 day waiting period must suck! I remember the old days when I thought a three day wait took forever. As others have said don't feel bad about owning ten firearms. I consider that just a basic battery. I have about three times that many, and I still want a dangerous game rifle and some kind of 9mm carbine. I should probably get a 9mm pistol too since I've sold off every one I've ever owned. I got my carry permit years ago but thankfully I live in a very low threat environment. I usually get by with just a short barreled revolver and/or a pocket .380 moving about my local area. If I have to go near Atlanta then my 1911 goes with me. I have a Springfield Champion that rides on my hip or under my arm depending on the weather and how I'm dressed. It is accurate, powerful, reliable, and very comforting to have with me in the "big city". Mine doesn't group 230gr loads well, but loves most 200gr JHP loads and shoots them like a target gun. Have fun with your new RIA when you can finally bring her home.

Congrats, OP. Those RIA 1911's are good guns, and priced right, too.

There is nothing like a 1911 in my book, but I must confess to the forum also my sin of buying handguns, I have purchased five new ones since Christmas of 2016, I know not what I am doing.

Congrats on the new 1911 (need pictures when you get it) and on your other choices. Good for you.
