Funny how things work. I was just considering a single stack. Dang, going to look closer at this.

Here we go again - another case of wanton gun lust just broke out.
Springfield made a great move implementing the DA/SA config, my favorite carry setup ala
the P90 and now available in a skinny polymer single stack - woot!
Once they roll this out in .45 ACP my bank account's gonna take a hit and the XDs will
have a new buddy.

Are these ones made in the US? not sure how excited I can get over a polymer frame not made in US. So many better options for American made polymers.

I actually checked it out, looks like a nice sleek set up. Just wished it was made in USA.

I saw this today myself but it will be awfully hard to tear me away from my XDs!
I just might have to try one out.

I like it. I always said that I would like the XD Mod2 better if they would add a safety and get rid of the dingus on the trigger. Looks like they did both, except in a single stack. As an added bonus, they did away with the grip safety. I predict they will sell a boatload of these.

Gonna have to check this one out.

pretty heavy for a single stack sub compact.

I'm surprised more people aren't bitchin about the manual safeties.

I did see that weight. 25oz is actually right on the borderline for comfort for me.

I see it's a safety/decocker. Forgive my ignorance, but how exactly does that work? I carry a P99C and it has a decocker that makes the first pull DA. Is this a similar function?

SAFETY UP: pistol cannot be fired
SAFETY DOWN: decocks automatically; first shot in double action; follow ups in single action. Below from the manual. Think Beretta 93

1. When the lever is pressed upward (Figure 14-1), the manual
safety is engaged and the pistol will not fire if the trigger is
depressed.
2. When the lever is horizontal (Figure 14-2), the pistol is in the
firing mode and will fire if the trigger is depressed.
3. When the hammer is cocked and the lever is pressed
downward past the horizontal position (Figure 14-3) the
hammer will rapidly fall to the lowered position and rest on
the safety sear without firing. From this condition the pistol
can be fired in the double action mode

tacky Springfield look

IMO, their pistols would just look more professional and business-like if they'd lose that tacky "GRIP ZONE" on the handle

Yeah, I've got a Mod2, and like the grip but hate the writing.
Like someone would need instructions on where to grip, the grip.
