I'm 95% sure it doesn't work that way with chamber space and magazines and all. 10mm can be converted to 40, but not vice versa.

You could convert your 22 to 9mm (I know, duh!).

No. You can not convert a .40 S&W Glock 22 to shoot 10mm auto. The 10mm case is longer than the .40 S&W. 10mm will not fit into the magazine/grip frame of a .40 S&W Glock 22.

There's a reason that .40 S&W is jokingly referred to .40 Short & Weak. .40 S&W has a shorter case and less power than a full charge 10mm.

You could convert to 357 sig with just a barrel swap, not as potent as 10 mm but a step in that direction. Now for the non recommended 10 mm conversion, even if a glock 20 barrel did fit into the slide of the G22, you wouldn't have anything more than a very awkward single shot pistol as the mags will not fit due to frame size.

While you can't convert a G22 to 10mm, you can apparently shoot .40 S&W in a G20. I'm sure Glock doesn't recommend it, but...

I have seen comments in some of the other forums that say you reasonably reliably shoot .40 in a 10mm. Even though the chamber is longer for the 10mm, the extractor will keep the .40 shell case tight enough against the bolt face to allow for adequate firing pin impact to set off the primer. It's said the rounds will feed from the mag with no problems as well. I know this is opposite of what the OP was asking, but just thought I'd throw it out there. Haven't tried it myself. Having shot the 10mm, I'm happy with the .40, but then I also preferred .38 sp. +P over .357 Magnum rounds in my revolvers.
