Nice looking pistol. Wow! 5 lbs. seems like a lot of weight to be lugging around as an EDC.

I will never complain about my Redhawk being too heavy.

I'm interested in the new 44 Mag L5 "Lightweight"

That's the .357 mag. Says it near the muzzle.

I've had the chance to fire both the .50AE and .44Mag versions of the Desert Eagle.

For the price, I would much rather buy a Coonan .357 Mag 1911 (fits my hand so much better).

You're welcome! I love it when I'm a (bad) influence!

I've had mine 3-4+ years now and love it, got it in 44 mag and added 50 cal. barrel. It's a great shooter in both calibers and it helps reloading for cost savings. Have a shoulder holster, but prefer my leg holster. Always been a very reliable shooter and the sights were dead on from the factory.

GONRA's gotta .44 Mag Desert Eagle when they first came out decades ago.
Gotta Timney Trigger Job (probably no longer available?)
as recommended (as I recall) by NRA American Rifleman evaluation.
"One hand hold" paper punching -
shoots like a target pistol with full power 240 gn. bullet handloads.

Just remember - JACKETED bullets ONLY.
Important elements of the gas system CANNOT be cleaned out.
Get a punch of extra mags, spare recoil springs, parts, etc.

These are REALLY phun to shoot!
May be the only "magnum pistol" that will NOT "shoot itself to pieces"
thus can be Family Heirloom.

If I am hunting and want a 5 plus lb firearm I will carry a flyweight carbine. A super blackhawk with scope is more like 4lbs. 5 lbs plus a scope is too much and as I posted ealrier Ihave short fingers so I cannot get a good grip on the gun.
