Thoughts on trading my GP100 6" Stainless for a BNIB Sig P320F Tacops?

The Sig comes with its case and 3 21 round mags, Sig lite night sight in the rear and a TFO sight in the front.

My Ruger would go with a Houge hardwood grip, Bianchi holster and a few rounds of ammo. I have shot it around 100 times.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I would keep the GP-100 - solid steel with continuing growth in re-sale value. Unless you are really into shooting 9mm. What I do - statement of the obvious - is set aside a $100 or so each month and get something new every few months. Also, I really like Ruger's but their quality control continues to go south. If you decide you want a GP-100 in a coupla years it may not look as nice as your current one ... Just my $.02 ...

Disagree that Ruger's quality is decreasing. When I look at the current GP100s they appear to have better fit-and-finish than the older ones. Love the laser etching.

Thanks Geo. Thats the thing, I do like shooting 9MM. But I already have 2 Springfields, a Glock 26 and a H&K VP9 9MM's as well as a CZ 75 SP-01, so it is not like I could really use another 9MM.

I am definitely rethinking this deal. My GP100 is sweet and beautiful. I just don't really have a need for it but it is something different that I think I will probably miss down the road.

Thanks for your thoughts!!

This is one case where I hope you're right and I'm ... slightly incorrect ... . My last GP-100 has the dreaded/slightly ugly gap where the crane meets the frame. It isn't even - although I never noticed it until someone here on RF pointed out the gap on recent GP-100's. Otherwise, it's very nice although I had to buff out a lot of Ruger's "buffing scratches" on the bottom of the trigger guard.

Either way - I think almost any GP-100 has more ... intrinsic value than any polymer pistol ...

Keep the GP... Unless it's an extra.

Good to have a Revolver , few months ago I was too weak and sore after surgery to load my M&P. Plus Revolvers sure are pretty all shined up with wood grips

Won't necessarily get an unbiased answer from me. I'm a revolver fan. Keep the GP.

I have to follow everybody else, keep the GP. You have the CZ for 9mm, one of the best 9mm guns on the market.

I sold my GP and have regretted it everyday since. One day I'll buy another.
Funny thing is I didn't realize how much I liked it until it was gone

I know the feeling....must buy new gun........

But you did say you have five 9mm's now. How many revolvers? If that is your only wheel gun, you'll be missing out on a whole different facet of hand gunning.

+1. I will never sell my GP100 but I have sold a few very nice rifles in the past (Marlin 45/70, M44 Polish nagant) and regretted it. It hurts!!

I looked for over 2 years to find the GP100 that I wanted no way in hell I will sell it!!! In fact now I want a 6 inch barreled DA .357 don't care if its a GP100, Security Six a S&W K or L frame either. A good DA .357 is hard to come by especially a nice 6 inch GP100 new these revolvers are over $700.00 my double 2 cents worth keep your GP100!!! Sounds like to me you already have a few 9mm's

Thanks for all of the replies! I called the deal off. You guys are right, I would regret getting rid of my GP100! It really is a beautiful piece! And the Sig P320 doesn't really offer anything more than my other 9MM's. And Walkingwolf is correct, I do already own one of the best 9MM's out there, the CZ 75!

Thanks for snapping me out of my clouded thinking before it was too late!!

Cheers!!

I think you made the right choice

I just looked up the Sig and Slickguns showed one @ $599. New GP100's are running about $670 in stainless, not much cheaper blued. Maybe wasn't such a straight up swap?
