Glock 19 Gen3 ???

The local gun range has a NIB Glock 19 Gen3 on consignment for $490. Is this a good price? Everyone has the Gen4 on sale for $570 - $615, is it worth the extra money?

If it is new, which I question most times. Usually to me means new in a box has not been sold to a consumer. If it has, and is not a collectors item, you can bet it has been shot. But that does not mean it is not worth 490 dollars, though I would not give that much for a used Glock.

It's an ok price. I would try to get it for $450. The Gen 4 is also good, but the G3 does just as good. Some guys prefer the 3 over the 4. I've had numerous of each generation and I have no complaints with either. Gen 2 is also good.

That's way too steep for my neck of the woods. Glocks of any kind are a dime a dozen on Armslist. I wouldn't give more than $400 for a Gen3 G19 in excellent condition.

I agree, that's very steep for a used Glock.

The gun is new, it came in a package deal with an assault rifle. Transfer papers were not done on the gun yet.

Maybe, but what do they tell you at the car dealership when you drive a car off the lot?

If a 4473 has been filled out, it has been transferred.

Based on Gallery of Guns that appears to be a competitive price if it's new.

Used Glock prices can vary quite a lot by where you are. In my area used Glocks on Armslist rarely drop much below $475. It's why I ended up buying my G19 new at the beginning of the year. In other places they are much more common and the price can drop (supposedly) below $400. A well known YouTube gun reviewer recently criticized the new Walther Creed by saying he could by a used Glock for similar money ($400) so he didn't understand the point of the gun. A bunch of people asked where he was seeing used Glocks for that price.

That's about the going price around here, but I'd try to get it for $450 like stated by someone above. I own a G19 and it's a great gun. I prefer the gen3 over the gen4. The gen4 has a new grip texture that I find a bit rough, especially for concealed carry. And the finish on the gen4 slide is different than the gen3, and it doesn't seem to be as durable and is more of a flat finish compared to the bit glossier finish of the older gen's.

Here's a video that talks about the finish.

Well they did not budge on the price and started getting a case of A## so I decided to walk away. After taking my Walther PPQ M2 and HK VP9 to the range the other day, I have decided that there are no better compact 9mm's out there. I really did not want another compact firearm especially 9mm, I prefer 40 s&w or 45 acp. Gander Mtn. had a used Glock 22 gen4 at a descent price and I was able to get them to knock off and additional $45. I really wanted another big bore duty firearm to go along with my Ruger SR40
