Walther Creed

I've heard the new Walther Creed has gotten pretty good reviews. Reliable, and solid build at a "bargain" price point. Has anyone been able to try it out for themselves? None of the ranges near me have one as a rental (yet).

Yeah, I have a feeling it will be tough to find one any time soon.

Let us know if you find one.

I'm confused why Walther decided this was needed. The PPQ is already a great double-stack pistol with a great trigger. The PPS is a great single-stack pistol with a great trigger. Then they decided to make a pistol the same size as the PPQ but (reportedly) with a worse trigger.

Oh and not very sexy either. It reminds me just a bit of a Hi-Point.

I think there are better alternatives if you gotta spend only $300-$350 on a double stack. The Ruger SR-9E comes to mind as low as $300, and ain't nobody going to complain about the trigger on a 9E.

I have also read nothing but good about them, I have not been able to find one at the local gun shops. They are made by Walther and there was no reduction in quality just because of its reasonable price! I own the PPS M2 and PPQ M2 and the build quality are second to none and have had no mechanical issues!

My FFL guy showed me his and it has a nice feel to it. Not the prettiest piece you'll ever see but fit my hand nicely. He couldn't stop saying great of a shooter it was and for the price he told me it's well worth it.

I think SIG Sauer did the same thing with their P320's

Agree, definitely not the prettiest piece! I guess you have to pay a couple hundred extra for a good looking Walther!

I've heard it's supposed to replace the PPX line. Also, agree on the 9E but I think that the Creed is a hammer fired DAO instead of striker fired.

Fair enough if a person is seeking a hammer-fired DAO specifically.

If not, then I can't think of a manufacturer that has produced a "$300 gun" which comes close to competing with the 9E.

The 9Es are about $50 less than the Creeds right now, so definitely the better value at the moment. Plus, with the Creed being a new line, no telling what little bugs might pop up (although I haven't really heard of any to date). Still would like to try one out though. The trigger is supposedly one of the best features, unlike many guns at that price point.
