I'm not sure you will get many opinions on this forum as it's a forum about Ruget semiautos.

But I'll give you mine anyway; I feel that the Buckmark you already have is a great plinker.

sr9 newbie will become famous soon enough
Alright I'll take one for the team. I do have the 5"ppq 22lr. Let me preface that i do have many Ruger 22lr's in my "collection ", but the Walther is a fine example. It has 3k+ rounds thru it and is tough to put down. The PPQ line has some highlights. I also have an M&P 22 just not the compact. Can't go wrong with any of the models mentioned.

When I was looking I tried just about all the available options. Except the PPQ wasn't around yet. I tried them at the local range and came down to the Walther P22 and Ruger SR22.

The S&W and Sig Mosquito both seemed to have the most issues: FTFeed, FTE. Granted, these were range rentals and no telling how they were used and cared for.

My final decision was the SR22. It was the best fit in my hand. I also liked the safety button more than the others. Initially had a problem with the magazine disconnect safety, but once fixed I have had 2000+ rounds without an issue.
