With that list there in no question which to hold onto... A Blackhawk of course ... In .45 Colt.
But really, it's silly... Need a Single Six in .22, a medium frame.flattop in .357, a medium frame flattop in .44 Special, a .44 Mag SBH...... I mean ... 'only' one?

What single revolver would you have

i had only one gun and revolver for many years, surreptiously due to my work location: a gently used, reliable, mid 1980s, steel taurus model 85 38sp, to which i added pachmayr grips. no limits on me now but if i were limited to only one more revolver my second would be a ruger single six 22lr/wmr.

My .45 convertible Blackhawk is now set up the way I want, so Blackhawk is my answer.

I voted GP100 since I have the Match Champion and love the way it fits and balances and their modular design. But I grew up shooting my Dad's 3 screw Blackhawks and Super Blackhawks and would like to have one in .45 Colt new version.

Yes, this is Ruger Forum. Ask the same question on the Coltforum and for completely different outcome on the S&W forum .

Don't get me wrong, I really like my GP100.

But, if I had to choose, I'd probably wind up

having to deal with punks, who thought it was

their lucky day. So I'd have to go with my 29...

I voted for the GP100, but the 29 is classic for sure. A Red Hawk could have a similar effect. And if the punks were actually counting maybe a 686 to surprise them with the 7th shot.

That is a really tough call! I'm glad that I don't have to make it because it is difficult to choose one revolver for all things. I narrowed my choice by selecting a size that would not be too difficult to carry and conceal yet would provide the option of mild to full power loads that are readily available at reasonable cost. A 4" barrel .357 on a medium frame would be the best all around option for me.
