A few years ago I was in the market for a small 9 mm and was comparing the Shield against the Ruger SR9c. Both felt pretty good in my hand and they were fairly closely priced. I finally decided to go with the SR9c based on brand loyalty and because of the knurling that S&W had on the trigger guard which I figured could cause blistering after a long day at the range.

All in all, I still think it is a darn fine pistol! Congratulations!

I have and alternate carrying both. Had an LC9s until the extractor flew out of it, then switched to the Shield. The SR9c and Shield have both ran well, with no issues. My SR9c is very comfortable to shoot and is very accurate. Only things I don't like are the slide serrations, it's difficult to rack, and the thumb safety. I've never liked the way the safety sticks out, and has a sizeable gap in between the frame and safety.

The Shield however racks easy, and I like the low profile, easy on/off thumb safety. I did put Talon grips on both pistols, which make for a big improvement. Interested in a Sig P320 carry or compact next, then picking up a subcompact grip frame. The Honor Guard 9mm from Honor Defense also intrigues me.

I have the Shield 45 and love it.............very nice shooting gun.

I alternate between that and the LC9s for my daily carry.

Waiting periods do not work and if they did it would only work for the first gun how stupid on repeat guns.

The gun is tops but that trigger is a step above garbage. I suggest changing it out but congrats still!

Congrats! Looks like a solid choice given the limited offerings in the state.

I'm glad I bought the SR9C before Ruger took a stand against CA.

Congrats. A very fine CC weapon. I believe that I've read that Smith has sold over a million and a half of them.

Congrats on the new S&W. I have two of the M&P's. like them both.

I just picked up a P320 compact with night sights today. I can't wait to run a few hundred rounds through her this week.
