I still feel our military should adopt it. It will knock them on their *^%#.

Good read. I bet if they made a double stack version of the 1911, it would be more popular with the military..

A double stack 1911 pattern requires a hand larger than many men my 2 sons in law included can handle easily. Both my osn inlaw are over 5 ft 8 inch an dhave average hands. The 1911 would benefit from a decocker like Cyinder and slide makes for the hi power and the 1911. It allows carrying a chambered round but allows a lowered hammer.

As a Marine and Texas Army National Guard veteran I will NEVER be without a 1911 or a M45A1 at my side.

I liked the days I served as the Unit Armorer tending to racks filled with 1911's, a heavenly blissful way to pass the days in that temporary assignment.

Good article. I love my Colt's and Sig but I carry a CMD every day. Changed trigger to Wilson Combat, added C&S light sear spring, cleaned up hammer and sear for a 3.5lb crisp let off and changed to fiber optic to red. and shoot it a lot!
