I find them to be excellent revolvers.

With reloading anything can be made pleasurable to shoot.

I have a light wad cutter load for target shooting. It's for my wife since she is extremely recoil sensitive. She will actually shoot a full box of 50 through the 642.

I've put allot of my reloads through my J frames but I limit running anything hot through them. Once in awhile I'll run a few fairly hot rounds but definitely not a steady diet.

Did not buy it for target and don't consider it a target gun but you might be surprised what you can hit , in SA anyway. It will put a smile on your face for a few rounds at least.
I also own and carry the 13.5 ounce scandium frame 360J. I can comfortably shoot a box of range plinkers with no discomfort. But I wouldn't recommend anyone shoot a box of .38+P on a regular basis through any "air-weight" J frame snubby

I really like shooting my Smith J frame. I usually point shoot it at 5 to 7 yards. Fairly fast double action.
