Thanks. Even more of a shame he traded it off.

He even admits it, too, as he never thought I'd grow up to be a gun guy like I am and a PA CCW holder. We lived in Jersey, and even then (1969), the handgun laws were getting bad...

I will sure as heck check it out when it hits the shelves, but I'd REALLY be on board if they come out with a blued version with walnut grips!

I think it's great that Colt is getting back in the revolver game. This will help boost competition, which in the long run will cause manufacturers to focus on innovation. MSRP seems reasonable to me. These aren't J frame size guns. They are slightly larger than an SP101 and closer to a K frame, all steel, and 6 shot. If they sell well I'm sure we'll eventually be seeing other calibers and then the reintroduction of other models. Maybe even a ... (gasp!) Python.

By the way msp3909 did you know that Dan Wesson brought back the 715 last year and they are in production? You can order barrels from them too now.

That's an old rumor because Uberti supplied the parts to make the reissue blackpowder revolvers. They have NEVER supplied a single part for SAA production and the current crop is the best they have ever been. If you can stand the wait.

The new Colt looks real nice but I will pass for now. I will take my GP 100 3" stainless any day of the week!

And in all fairness to Colt, they never stopped making revolvers. They just stopped making DA revolvers.

True I should have been more clear about that.

And based on the experience with my 1995s King Cobra, they should have stopped making DA revolvers about a decade or so earlier than they actually did.

But I do with them luck on this. Competition is a good thing, and I sure like the idea of more six-shot snubbies coming back into the market.

I had a 6 inch 45 colt anaconda and it endured buffalo bore ammo even though I was told not to. It was very accurate.

Kimber is well known for baiting the interest sometimes over a year before they even go into production. There out there you have dig for them but as mention they are the special edition models commandeering 4 figures.

I have absolutely no interest in the Colt but as mention I'm glad they are back in it. Hopefully we can get some more small revolvers going but in bigger bore.

I fired off an email over a year and a half ago to 'talk to the Ceo' on Rugers site about getting a certain type of revolver under the Ruger name. Of course never heard back. If Charter Arms can do it so can they and I trust their metallurgy. I'd even accept moon-clips as long as it's chambered for another round as well.

My guess is Ruger and S&W doesn't want to pay a royalty to use Charter Arms ingenious and I suspect there is no better method than what they invented.
