LC9s versus Glock 43

Anyone shot and/or owned both and can offer a legit, unbiased comparison of the two? I have a Glock 43 and like it just fine for what it is, but I've been tempted to pick up an LC9s because the prices on them are dirt cheap lately.

I have both and really like the safety on the LC9s. Neither of mine have been fired much, but I would say the Glock 43 will or would hold up better to higher round-count shooting. If either were to be carried a lot - no doubt in my mind I would go for the LC9s due to the safety.

Edited to add: Ruger swapped out both of my cheapo US-made mags for Italian-made versions. The US-made mags were said to drop out unexpectedly. I didn't have that problem but wanted the best mags.

So if I already own the Glock 43, it would seem like there isn't a real reason to sell it and get the LC9s?

For some reason, I've been systematically selling all of my Glocks over time. The 43 is the last one... I wonder if I'm subconsciously affected by the fanboys. ;-)

I've shot both, including having the opportunity to shoot both on the same day. They both are well made little pistols. If I ever own a Glock again, it will probably be the G43.

That said, the LC9s fit my hand a little better and has a better trigger feel. I own an LC9sPro (with a LaserMax green trigger guard laser) now.

I've shot both and own a Glock 43. Doesn't mean that I like the Glock 43 any better than the LC9s, I just got a better deal on the Glock 43. I used to own a Sig P938 too. I've also shot a S&W Shield 9mm. That being said, I will be 100% honest. I do not like shooting the small single stack 9mm's or .380's one bit. When my attire is not conducive to carrying a larger pistol, I will sacrifice shooting comfort and carry the Glock 43 rather than go unarmed. While I do not enjoy shooting the small single stack 9mm's, I still practice with one. I'm not putting 200 rounds down the pipe in a session though.

Because I'm not shooting one often and I think they all are not fun to shoot, value for the dollar is primary. If I were in the market for a single stack 9mm at current street prices, I'd purchase a LC9s based on value for the dollar.

If I didn't take into account my current rationale and ranked based on overall live fire recoil impulse perception and comfort:

1. S&W Shield.
2. Sig P938.
3. Glock 43 & Ruger LC9s

They all are reliable. They all cycle factory 9mm fine. They all evidence similar shot placement on target relative to their small size and intended short distance purpose of use. They are all from reputable large companies with the resources to properly staff and fund decent customer service departments.

Not to go too off track, but I've shot the new S&W Shield .45 ACP. Not much larger than the 9mm & .40 S&W shields, but just big enough to be more comfortable to shoot. It's small enough for easy concealment on par with it's 9mm & .40 S&W stable mates, but not "pocket" as with the new LCPs. .45 ACP recoil impulse isn't horrible. I'm considering selling off my Glock 43 to acquire a .45 ACP Shield. If I'm going to be limited to 6 or 7 rounds, it makes sense to go for the cartridge that pokes bigger holes on target.
