Does anyone make a 5 shot 45 colt ? Something like that would be nice for everyday carry

Gunman is right about the Taurus 41Mag. I have the Taurus Model 415, 2.5" barrel, in titanium and I really like it. It's about the size of the Ruger GP100, but much lighter due to the titanium.
A little big for concealed carry, I use mine for hiking and while doing chores around the ranch. Using a shoulder rig, I can hardly tell its there, nice gun.

My wife's uncle asked me about what would be a good handgun for him and his wife for around their house. He has several shotguns, but no handguns.

My recommendation...was the Governor by Smith & Wesson! It'll shoot .410 shotshells (her big interest) and .45 Colt or .45 acp (his big interest).

He's excellent with his shotguns...but for a hip or back-up gun, the S&W Governor would be an excellent choice!

I started reloading for 45Colt and soon wanted a snubbie in the caliber. Couldn't find one available but reading my load manuals, I noticed how close 44special loads were to why I was wanting my 45Colt loads to do. This lead to a new set of dies and a 44spec Charter Arms Bulldog :) Might be something you may want to look at too.

I was gonna say a Charter Arms bulldog or pitbull earlier, but realized they are 44 SPL and 45 ACP, and deleted the comment.

No moon clips are needed for the 45 ACP or the 9mm. And everything Ive read about them, the ejection system works. So,,, ?

Dunno? Maybe the LC needs a longer cylinder & frame than the standard Charter Arms comes in?

Seems to me my Ruger 45 LC cylinder & frame opening looks longer than on pics of the Pitbull.

That would be a handy Lil revolver in a 5 shot 45 Lc.

Mine has been very reliable for me and I have at least 400 rounds through it so far. About the only thing I have ever really heard negative about Charter Arms is the finish is not the same as a S&W. That never really bothered me. Of course there's that other thing they don't share with S&W and that is price! :) Mine is reliable, accurate, and a fun boomer at the range.

I love Charter Arms revolvers I have a Bulldog in .44 spl and it feels great in my hands and shoots easy as pie. It's my go-to sidearm. I'm never far from it! Well made too. I've shot tons of rounds through it with no issue. I like it so much that I'm thinking of getting the .45 acp next.

Ok. So say I get a bulldog. It would be as it is now anyway either a 44 special or a 45 acp. I'd like my Mrs to be able to use it. Now I don't generally notice recoil until it gets kinda nasty. But the Mrs is VERY VERY recoil sensitive. I've never had much is anything to do with the 44 special. How is the recoil on it. ?

She will not like it. 45Colt and 44Special in small sized guns are going to kick. Simple physics takes over. No way around it with light weight guns in large calibers. I'd describe the recoil of a 240gr 44Special in the Bulldog as similar to a .357magnum in an all steel snubbie. Maybe more of a "push" than a "smack" but still stout.
