Well one finally showed up used at my gun shop. After thoroughly inspecting it and making sure everything locked up tight I decided to take it home two weeks ago. And I gotta say I'm really glad I did. I honestly don't know why I waited so long to own a Bulldog. I guess because I had always heard mixed reviews, and well, it's not the prettiest revolver either ... but gosh the frame size is perfect for carry. Sort of between a J frame and SP101.
Mine came with box and even the original shell casing which was dated 2006. It has a bobbed hammer. After some research I found out this was how they were doing them at the factory at the time.
Range report: I am happy to say that this is one accurate shooter. It seems the heavier weights are better in this gun. I shot 165gr, 180gr, and 200 gr 44Spl rounds. The 180gr and 220gr were the most accurate. I was able to group within 2-3 inches at 15 feet.
It's not as pretty as a Smith or Ruger but it does what it's designed to do. Trigger is actually pretty nice. It's pretty close in feel to an SP101. I'm thinking because I bought it used the previous owner must have broken it in nicely over the years. Enjoy a few pics below.
