Sunday morning was I think the best day we have had out here all Year.
Cool Temperature plus Abundant Sunshine.
No Hot and Hazy with all of the Stagnant Air that we have had all Summer.
Got out the Old Heritage Rough Rider and spent some Quality time with it.
Really, Really like shooting 22lr. Single Actions.
Yes we have Semi-Automatic 22lr. but, for me shooting Revolvers is a whole different Ball Game.
It's only a 6 shot so the Pace is slowed down tremendously.
I don't really think about nothing, don't care about nothing just a good time putting a bunch of Holes in Targets.
As the day went on was surprised just how much Ammo I was going through but, it didn't matter one way or the other.
Used up
150 rds. - Federal Game-Shock 31gr. cphp Hyper Velocity.
200 rds. - Browning 40gr. cphp Hyper Velocity.
200 rds. - Winchester Super X 40gr. cphp Hyper Velocity.
350rds. - Armscor 36gr. php Hi Velocity.

Took the Flick using my Wife's Pumpkins just seemed the right thing to use seeing it is Fall out there.
Now I have to explain Why Her Pumpkins smell like Gun Oil, oh well you will have that.
The Extra bonus of the day was the Old Marlin got another one of them there Pesky Varmints, Yep another Dead Chickmonk. That makes 28 for the Year so far.
Plus didn't miss watching the NFL at all.........

Trimmed the flower beds and held the ladder for her Fearfulness while she gave the cypress trees a haircut.
Manned the Veto Gunmageddon petition table at Rifle Gear gun shop from 2pm to 6pm.
All in all a good day.

I haven't watched pro ball in about 15 years. I watch college football and really enjoy it ( my LSU Tigers really suck this year). They aren't over payed children like the pros. The money they make for playing a game is ridiculous. The indoor range I am a member of is closed on Sundays for CCW classes.

You could use those pumpkins as targets since they smell of gun oil. :D

OrgLongHair, good to see you had a good time. Just curious as to how good of a gun the Heritage Rough Rider is. Over the last couple of years I've seen them on sale a few times and I'm curious the quality.

We bought my Dad one two Christmas ago. I really didnt like loaning him my Ruger Single six, as I keep it like new, and he is kinda rough on them, dragging them to camp, shoved under the seat, laying on the floor, or hard surfaces, etc. . We got him the Rough Rider with the fiber optic sights and lamanated grips. 6.5 barrel. Ran about $245 NIB I think.

We dont really use the 22 LR, but, shooting the 22 mags, its every bit as accurate as my $450 ruger 6.5 bbl single six. We shot them both off the bench @ 100 yards. Both revolvers would hit a 6 inch square no problem on CCI TMJ ammo. .

I was really surprised actually. The machine work may not be as fine, the cylinder may not be as tight, but the Heritage more than held its own against the Ruger.

IMHO,, I think they are a pretty good value for the money.

Time will tell how it hold up to the Pounding.
Targets are at 25 yds. the more time you spend with it the better you will do, as with most Firearms.
I use 8" Reactive Targets Cadwell'so makes it easy to see how bad or how good your doing.
Taught Our Great Nice how to shoot with it, She liked using it. She had never shot anything before so it is really user friendly.
It has Open Site's so there is some fudge factor involved.
It hasn't had any problems using the 22 lr. Cylinder.
Using the 22 Mag. Cylinder 2 chamber's the will not Eject empty Brass Casings.
Might just try and find a local Gunsmith to check it out.
Overall it is worth the money, if you do decide to pick one up and are not happy with it take it to a Pawn Shop or trade it in on something else.
Hope this Helped you out.

Hope you do get one, and Good Luck with it.
Keep your eye's on the Screws it has. Even with the Pounding I gave it on Sunday, after cleaning it some were loose. Not to the point of falling out, just loose.
Don't give up on it learn those little Idiosyncrasies that it has.
Is definitely a straight shooter.

NFL means "Not for long" when you are disrespecting my country!
