My favorite 22LR revolver is my 1948 K-22 Masterpiece Pre-Model 17.

My Model 18 K-22 Combat Masterpiece takes a close second.

This is my Taurus 990. I purchased it because because I wanted something less expensive to use as a "knock around" revolver. It has turned out better than my expectations. The action has smoothed nicely with use and it has proven to be perfect for my intended use.

I have a bunch of them, including a 617. My favorite is my 5.5" Single Ten.

I have two, a new model single six, and a LCR 22 mag. The new model was my first firearm purchase (1976), the LCR is just more fun to shoot.

Mine is my S&W K-22 pre 17, from 1952. very accurate with a great SA trigger, DA isn't bad for a rimfire either.

Cylinder Cleaning

Speaking of 22 revolvers. Is it OK to clean the front face of the cylinder? I like to shine the front face of the cylinder on my stainless SP101 22 with 600 Emory paper because it gets so black. Then I was thinking, maybe I shouldn't do that because that's where the cylinder mates with the barrel. Did I screw up?

S&W mod 17. I've got one a bought new back about 85. Had Jim Clark do a combat set up on it. It is one of the best shooting 22s I've ever handled. Clark did some great pistol work.

I doubt you screwed it up but don't clean it there too aggressively or you'll eventually increase your BC gap. I use bore cleaner and a tooth brush on mine. a little black ring I usually leave alone unless I was going to sell it, then I'd shine it.

Ruger Single Six. It's a tack driver.

I think Waveform has already won this thread, but my favorite .22 revolver is the only one I own. I still like it a lot, though. It's a 1966 S&W model 34 with a Birdsong finish.

Have vintage Model 17s and a great 617, but being the single action fan I am and given that I started my handgun addiction with a Single Six, my favorite is any version of Single Six, with a Bearcat a close second. Maybe not as classy and fancy as the Smiths, but the best fit for my tastes.

Recently picked up the first edition 6 shot SP101 in 22 LR, made in 1991 and, gotta say, LOVE it. Sweet, sweet shooter.
