My wife's Springfield XDm 3.8 9mm is a pretty darn good shooter for a shorter barrel'd pistol.
Personally, I like my Gen 2 Glock 19...probably one of the most accurate semi-auto's I have ever shot. The only one that tops it is my Glock 36 in .45 acp for accuracy!
I can only agree with 1st Sgt. My Sig P220 is by far the best 9MM I have ever shot. I love Ruger products but that old P220 out shines everything on the market. hbrigiii@gmail.com
Favorite/best is a difficult question. It depends on what it is for. I have a few 9mm pistols and each is awesome in their own right.
I have the following and don't think I will get rid of them anytime soon:
Ruger SR9c-best striker fired trigger I have felt
Glock 19 gen 4-uber reliable
Glock 43-great size for conceal carry
Springfield Range Officer compact-9mm 1911 is very accurate and a blast to shoot
and recently ordered a Beretta/Wilson Combat 92G Brigadier Tactical
I actually shot the Glock 19 the best out of the box without any extra work.
My favorite has to be the CZ P-01 with VZ Grips (couldn't stand the rubber ones) It did take me a little longer to learn the double action trigger. Both are great 9mm!!!
And I really need to take some new pictures of the CZ ... Just not the quality I like ...
Lot of ruger, cz, and glock !
See I started all this because the only 9mm I have is the lc9, and I like more of a range gun, something fun to shoot but with accuracy.
Most of the popular double stack 9mm pistols with a 4" barrel are fun to shoot on the range. The reason I like Glock is not they are the most accurate pistol on the market. Glock pistols are combat accurate and very reliable. What I like is you pay a little more up front but every thing else is a lot less expensive. You can change the feel and reset of the Glock trigger using Glock parts that are dirt cheap. You do not have to buy aftermarket parts. My night sight and adjustable rear sights cost a whopping $40.
One gun that no one mentioned is the M&P9 with a 4.25" barrel the M&P is one sweet shooting pistol.
Really, a browning high power from the late 60's was great, minimal recoil, great trigger, easy to clean, perfectly reliable. My dad's friend owned it when everyone else had 1911's (too much for a young guy) so, I loved it, never shot one its equal even though I am a died in the wool Glock owner now (relax, I own rugers as well).
I'll echo the CZ 75B sentiments, although I have a compact.
All steel and sex appeal
