CZ 75 Shadowline is at the top pf my list. This version is the pinnacle of the 75./85 series of CZ's line of pistols. Sweet an accurate out of the box with a glass smooth DA trigger pull and a crisp SA. Love the gun.
I have a few others I enjoy including other CZ's but the Shadowline is about as good as it gets out of the box.
My favorite is my M1 Walther PPS. It feels comfortable in my hand with the large backstrap and I can shoot a consistent pattern.
8 round mag with a backup mag is a good choice for ED carry at only 1” wide.
I'm not a big 9mm fan but I do own a few that I really enjoy shooting. My favorite is a 1959 vintage Browning Hi-Power but the one I shoot the most is a stainless CZ-75b. Both guns are fairly accurate and function very reliably.
Like most here I have shot many 9mm variations. My favorites include a Springfield XD Mod 2 with a Powder River Precision trigger and sear and a Cajunized Canik C100 (CZ 75B Compact clone). Both are true tack drivers that put multiple bullets through the same hole. However, I consider both of them to be range guns, and I carry a Glock 26 more days than not.
I've shot many semi autos but I'd have to say that my Beretta 92 Italy was buttery smooth. Wished I hadn't traded it away but there's always another on out there.
I have a Gen3 S&W 6906 that shoots where I point it. Recently I bought a Sig P365XL that is quickly catching up as even more accurate. Both have smooth as glass factory triggers, and are 30 years apart in design and construction.
Of the four 9mm I have, The Beretta 92FS is probably the best of the bunch. But if I could have 1, I would take the FMK 9C1G2 for the size and price, put the Canik TP9SF trigger on it, and make it "shiny" like the Beretta 92FS. My 4th is a Taurus 709 Slim, I like it but the others have the features I want in one gun.
Old thread but I'll jump back in too. My choice has changed. I'll save you the hassle of going back to figure out what I wrote 6 years ago. Back then it was a 1980's vintage Sig P220 9mm. Since then I've acquired two 9mm pistols that outshine the Sig and both of them are Dan Wesson Valors. One is a full size and the other is a Commander. Phenomenally good handguns. Everything about them is quality, refinement and purpose. Smooth, accurate, and a joy to shoot.
For me it would be my PX4 Storm, I love the rotating barrel, very smooth and a very flat shooting. close second is my Beretta 92 models very flat shooter, very accurate and never had a misfire, misfeed or any kind of problem. Way they are designed, straight out of the mag direct into the chamber makes them very trouble free.
1. SIG P210-6 in 7,65mm
2. Smith Wessen 1911 with tuned trigger
3. CZ Shadow 2 with tuned trigger
I never liked the SIG some years ago. But shooting it changed my mind. It is very light and small, has a fantastic trigger and is extremely accurate.
