RIA 51479 TAC 1911 comapct in .45 ACP with the 3.5" barrel from Bud's Gunshop yesterday. I paid with an "E" check, so now I need to wait for the check to clear and for the weapon to be shipped to my LGS. I went with the "E" check because I wanted the 3% cash discount. Total was $566 plus $6 for shipping insurance. I can't wait, but I guess I'll have to wait.
Update: Finally, Bud's received confirmation from their bank that my "E" check had cleared! Yeah! Status is shipping, maybe have it by thursday (Ju;y 2). Fingers are crossed!
Just received the e mail from Bud's that gives me the tracking number from UPS and the estimated day of delivery. The est date and time is EOD July 2! Now all I need to do is get some cans of compressed air and plenty of shop rags, solvent and more lube to clean it after I pick it up. I've read where RIA's come caoted in oil and grease!
Got real lucky today!...UPS delivered my RIA Tactical to my local LGS at 9:45. I picked it up around 10:45. Boy, it was covered in oil. I bought some shop rags and a gunmat(don't want to get my wife's table all oily). Found out my hands are a lot weaker because of my arthritis, however, I was able to partially field strip it. Partially because the instructions stated a "paper clip" was needed to help seperate the guide rod and the spring! So, I wiped it down real well and took pictures. Right now, I only have one to post and it isn't that good. However, more pictures and a range report will be coming soon! Don't know why, but I can't post any pictures?
Congrats!
I bought a full size a few months ago and I also thought I have weak hands when trying to field strip it. Figured it out finally. My hands weren't to blame
Congrats on your newest! Those are good "little" .45's.
