Scope mount/rings with open sights

I put a new stock and barrel on my 10/22 and want both my fire sights and a scope, so what scope mount/rings will give me room for iron sights underneath? or what side scope mounts are there?

I personally think these are awful because of how far your bore axis is from your scope axis but I think this is an example of what you're looking for:

I agree with Knurl, but if you want the capability of using either/or just invest in a quality set of QD rings.

Learn from the best...this guy has lots more stuff but this is extremely basic and very important imo...

It will be extremely difficult for you to have a scope set up properly and have iron sights that are actually usable at the same time...something will have to be compromised...the best options imo are interchangeable sights/scope/dot and/or removable/adjustable cheek rest...

The best way to go imo if you want "optics" mounted with irons and have total compatibility without adjusting/removing anything it to go with a co-witnessed red dot and iron sight combination...

You might be interested in these other threads...

There is a lot of "stuff" in this thread including my one-off iron sights for a bull barrel...last summer I was committed to having my eye level perfected for both peep sights and a scope...with sights/scope both mounted to the same tip off rail...interchangeable quick and easy...but not both mounted at the same time...I got extremely close...but then I finally broke down and got a decent red dot...have not even considered using irons since...

Low_Lower_Lowest

El Pistoff kind of locked himself in a bit with committing to a 40mm scope in this thread which IMO is too big for the application but essentially the discussion of the options is the same...

Tech-Sights Rail mount version and Nikon Scope

So for me...it's either dot only...or...irons/dot...or...dot/scope...

If you look at the discussion in low lower lowest...and note the date that wstgl was looking at my set up that where I used a generic Williams dovetail peep on a tip off rail on the 10/22 you will see that he went and found the Tech Sight for the Marlin...a dovetail version of what he already had for the 10/22...to use the same way I used the Williams...

Had I been aware of that option...I would not have got the Williams...and since I have a bull barrel if had gotten the dovetailed Tech Sight I would have gotten a Nodak front post to go with it...that would have been the way to go for me...and it is what I would do now if I wanted to go back to irons with an interchangeable scope option...

Since then...Tech Sight now shows that dovetailed rear sight in the 10/22 section which is VERY smart move from them and it competes very well with the Nodak fixed rail/peep offering...

Ruger Rail Sighting system

If you have a standard barrel...tech sights has you covered...if you have bull barrel Nodak has the front post you seek to go with either brand rear sight...

NoDak Spud NDS-22 receivers

If I didn't care about a scope option and just wanted to slick set up for iron/dot combo...especially if I had a bull barrel...I would go with the Nodak...

However...I prefer the flexibility offered by the Tech sight rear with elevation adjustment with the removable sight option...all things considered...

Tech sights needs a slip on front post for bull barrels to round out his offerings for the 10/22 imo...the muzzle thread-on dovetailed adapter is extremely limited application but bull barrels non threaded are a huge market...

These Weaver Brand rings with coin slot nuts are great...remove quick and easy...low cost...light weight...very nice imo...
