Replacement front sight options for LCR .22WMR?

Hello Friends,

My LCR .22WMR is a nice shooting gun, especially with SD ammo optimized for its short barrel. However, black sights make for a poor sight picture shooting at low contrast targets beyond point-and-shoot distances. All the replacement front sights offered by Ruger state they change the POA-POI by five inches on the LCR .22LR, and I assume a similar amount on the .22WMR.

Has anyone sourced a replacement front sight that doesn't alter POA-POI? Or must I resign myself to painting it with neon lure or model paint?

Thanks.

-GG, SoCenPA

If you do not want to change POA/POI, paint is likely your only option. The replacement sights seem to be for centermass, put the dot in the middle and shoot.....at least that is what the XS does on my LCR.
The bullet hits behind the dot instead of on top of the blade.

What model LCR do you have?

Ruger claims using any of their offered replacement sights on the LCR 22 (and I assume the Mag as well) will shift the POI significantly. "When mounted on the LCRŽ .22 model, however, the point of impact will shift down as much as 5 inches when fired at a 15 yard target." That's a B I G difference.

I painted the front sight white. It helps quite a bit.
