Question SCOPE MOUNT FOR Leupold VX-1 Rimfire Rifle Scope 2-7x 28mm

I just picked up my new Davidsons black laminate 10/22 and would like to mount my Leupold VX-1 Rimfire Rifle Scope 2-7x 28mm to it. I am interested in receiving your comments on the best base and ring combination.

Three Rugers in the safe now, LCP, SRH and 10/22.........life is good!

Thanks,

I like this rail/ring combo the best for that scope on the 10/22...It is the Weaver multi slot rail and Weaver Low rings...

Same rail/rings as above...

Another thing I like about the multi-slot rail is that I can use Weaver Med quad lock rings on a 40mm scope and just barely clear the barrel...with factory or to-9 rail rings that will clear will clear by a lot more than I want...

The pic below is Leupold Rifleman rings on a Weaver TO-9 rail...a nice combo...but I like the one above a lot better due to the mounting options with the multi-slot rail and prefer the Weaver rings because they on/off with a coin and lock down tight...

Weaver Low Rings on a Weaver TO-9 rail... pretty much the lowest you can mount a scope w/o going to a lot of trouble...the TO-9 rail sits about .1" lower than the multi slot...and the Weaver Low rings are about .06" lower than the Rifleman Low rings...also...the TO-9 rail lets you mount the scope farther to the rear than most...

I went all out for lowest possible mounting of that scope and modified the Rifleman Low rings to mount directly to receiver...I like this option best if the stock is a factory hunter-style because it requires less effort to get the cheek rest right...

Another look at the ultra-low custom mount...

I have the same scope on a 10/22 LVT.

I used the factory Ruger Weaver base, and Leupold PRW low rings.

Works great, Lasts a long time!

Thanks...I gotta say I really like that scope a lot...especially the fine duplex...

Also...I am NOT saying what I have for rail/rings is best...but the ones shown are low cost and do a good job...the Weaver Low are a pita to set up...but once done the stay solid and on/off super fast/easy...

You can spend a lot on rails/rings...

Leupold has a nice base/ring mount with windage adjustment but it mounts too far forward for me...

DNZ makes a real nice one-piece rail/ring combo as well...I would get the Low for that scope for sure...and the price isn't bad...down side is you don't have much flexibility with mounting...

With the Weaver multi slot rail... swapping scopes or using a red dot is much easier...hard to go wrong with the multi slot rail for under $10 regardless of what rings/scope/dot you use...
