spotting scope for the range

I did not know which section to put this in....
Can you recommend a small spotting scope on a tripod that will not break the bank, but is good quality for me to use to sight in rifles long distance. Maybe under $200.

Thank you.

I have had several cheaper ones. Should have gone with this one first and saved some money. This is one fine scope for the price. I can see .223 holes at 200-300 yds depending on conditions. The tripod is not the best, but a camera tripod works well. It is the optics that count, not the tripod.

I have this one, that I'm pretty happy with, on my 100 yard range.

Depends on what you consider long distance 100 yrds? 200yrds? 1000yrds?

Also depends on the targets you use. The new splatter type targets make it much easier to spot bullet holes compared to a traditional black bull. I've got a small Leupold 15-30x50 Gold Ring that I bought mostly for spotting targets at 50 yards for pistol shooting and, ordinarily, that would be a pretty small scope for anything more, but, by using splatter targets, I can use the scope at 100 yards, no problem.
