That is a very good all around size for the gun imo...look forward to hearing your opinion on it's quality etc...

Note that I don't think of this as 'tactical' I actually think of it more at target/practical but I do believe this size scope on this rail/ring combo is ideal for tactical 10/22...iron sights not with standing...for that I revert to the T0-9 rail with same rings and mount the peep sight to the TO-9 rail...but for now this is the optimal rail for what I am doing...

In this picture the cheek rest has not been built up yet I was working on it at the time...

Very Nice ZommyGun,

I do like those thumb screws that can be easily removed by a hand or a coin/ flat bladed screw driver

I contacted Tech Sights and asked them If i could use their 10/22 Front sight

With the Marlin Rear Peep sight as it is a Rail mounted unit.

This is their reply,

Yes you can use the front sight assembly from the TSR200 package for the 10/22, and the rear sight from the TSM200 package, Rear Marlin 60 & 795 rifle sight to make a rail mounted sight. The TSM200 rear sight requires the small 3/8” rail found on top of the OEM Ruger 10/22 scope rail, or the T09 Weaver rail.

We sell the two sight assemblies (front and rear) as a package for $69.00 and $6.00 shipping. The package isn’t listed on our website, so you will have to call us to order, or we can send you a paypal invoice by email and you can pay it online. If you’re not in a hurry you can send a check or money order.

What is the eye relief of that scope, I take it, that it is a adjustable range.

Is it to close to the eye, about right or can be adjusted, and is not a problem.

I ask this cause the Vortex i bought is adjustable and i figured most are adjustable.

I saw Long eye relief for the Mosin nagant, and a side scope mount made of steel, that looked interesting

The adjustment is the focus...

The eye relief is the range of distance your eye has to be from the scope...they give a range because it varies with magnification...

"generous" means you can have your eye farther from the scope...important with high power due to recoil...

Eye relief is determined by where you mount your scope relative to the LOP and how you have your cheek rest set up...

In other words...the shorter your LOP...the farther forward you will have to mount your scope to get the proper eye relief...

That is the big advantage of multi-slot rails...you can move the rings around as needed for proper eye relief...that will vary for the length of the scope tube as well...the longer the scope...the farther forward it will have to mount for proper eye relief...

Ryan Cleckner is the expert...he gives the basics and advanced information in detail...including the ideal way to set up your cheek rest for optimal results...he is the man...

ryan cleckner - YouTube

Tech Sights has some nice products and options not available elsewhere for the 10/22 and they will answer questions...unlike some people who will never answer back...I would be very interested to see what you get that mounts to the TO-9 rail...

I would also like to know for reference what your front post height is now relative to the center of the bore...

Maybe i did not word the question right what is the stated eye relief for the scope you have on you rifle?

I think my new scope is 3.1-3.5"

and

any reason you went with a centerfire scope instead of a Rimfire scope? or is it just something you had or was a dual purpose situation?

VX-1 Rimfire 2-7x28mm · Leupold

I don't own a center fire scope...the Simmons is air rifle and the Leupold is rim fire...only the rim fire scopes have the fine duplex...

The reason i ask this is I wanted to mount a Longer Rail on my receiver about 6" to 7" long, standard is 4.5" long I believe.

I was hoping i could get my scope a little bit (Very slightly) forward and move my Rail mounted Rear Tech Sight Very slightly rear ward,

I am talking slightly as i don't want to mess with the eye relief on either the scope or the Rear tech Sight.

I may have to have the scope slightly higher than the rear iron sight, so i dont corrupt the sight through my scope. But i dont want any cheek weld/eye height issues

I linked you to the specs on the scope...

That is nice find on the tech sight...

I had long been considering getting one for the SKS and now might get the Marlin one for the 1022 also...

Can you post pics of it...

The TO-9 rail mounts the front slot forward of the receiver and there are others that mount even farther forward in Weaver and Picatinny...

What width rail does that marlin ts200 mount on...the typical 22 bolt action size or the standard Weaver/Picatinny...

Are you ever going to answer me regarding your front post height...been asking you for a month...like ten times...it could not be easier to find out...

Just do it...

Not a Ruger, but it's low.

Not even a piece of paper will fit.

This thread was started originally with the intention of putting up pics of parts/scopes and clearances...the more the better imo...

Give up the details...

Thanks - I'll get some close up pics as soon as the wife is out of the house. She doesn't know about this one yet. It's a Rem 700P - cheap BSA 4-16 scope, and I'm not sure on the rings as I had a few pairs laying around that I experimented with. I actually took these ones off of my Ruger Charger and put the taller rings on it. I'm not too well versed in optics yet or I'd give more details. I only discovered this thread after looking in the optics subform for information to read/learn and thought I'd share the pic.
