| Cabela's scopes
I'm going to take the plunge and pick up a 10/22 to tinker with and will most likely get a Nikon ProStaff Rimfire for it. While browsing online, I came across the Cabela's rimfire riflescopes and just thought I would see if anyone out there has experience with them. Can't beat the price and especially on a teacher's salary!

You can't beat Cabela's for warranty- if you don't like it, they will take it back.
I used their warranty on scopes before buying a damaged scope from their bargain cave. It was a$600+ Cabela's brand scope that had some black flecks in the field of view, I think I paid around $250 for it- it was remarked "no returns." The next day I found the occular lens loose, I took it back to the store and explained that I bought it with knowledge of specks in the lens, but didn't know a lens was loose. They took it back and gave me store credit for it since I told them I was going to buy a different scope while I was there.
Check for the model online on the Cabela's website and read the reviews on it.

I know i'm cheaping out and will eventually upgrade but for now.... that's what the budget will allow...

Their caliber specific scopes are 1/2 off. they have them for .17. .22, .22mag & .223. They will be $49.99, except for the .223, which is $75. They have the bullet drop reticle, which is nice.
They also have a big online hot buys sale on 8/20-21.

I also have a couple Leupolds. I think even the less expensive rimfire scopes out of Japan are good enough for a 22 but wouldn't put them on a high powered rifle. Just my two cents worth.
What brands/models do you have?

Thanks for the info guys. I think I'll give them a shot. Oh BTW, I'm not that high on the teaching food chain, but being single and having student loans paid off has helped a lot recently!

I put a regular rifle scope on my 22 as I had a 22 scope on it for years and the difference was impressive. They scope was an old one I had swapped out several years before and it found a home on my 22. You may be able to find an old (used) rifle scope trade in that works for you.

I haven't used one, but all Cabela's scopes get wonderful reviews, so I think it would be a great choice if you're on a budget.

I bought the Nikon ProStaff for my new Ruger 10/22 takedown. Both are from Cabelas. I really like the reticle that is graduated from 50 to 150 yards. Clay pegions on a berm at 100 meters were regularly hit using the 100 yard circle in the rimfire scope.

Does anyone want a free Bushnell scope? Its a 3-9 x 32. Its in great shape except has bad ring marks but if you put it on a 10/22 those marks will be covered. Remember its totally free including shipping. No rings are included but it does have the lens cover.
Its for a rimfire.
PM me with a ship to address and its yours.
The scope is no longer available.

Thinking of adding a scope to my 10/22 takedown.
I put a Prostaff 3-9x40 on my 30-06 recently with DNZ Gamereaper mount.
I haven't had a chance to zero it yet.
FYI You guys,
If you are in the market for a Nikon BDC scope, Nikon is offering a $30 mail in rebate and Natches Shooters Supplies is offering some, apparently, really big savings. Here is a link to Natches' catalog for the sale:
