Ruger Mini 14 Ranch Rifle Optic Setup

I like to compare various red dot sights and all of my rifles except for my ancient 182-series Mini 14 are equipped with a Red Dot Sight. Lately I have been playing with the Aimpoint CompC3 on my Mini 15 Ranch Rifle. This has worked out superlatively well using the GG&G rail system on the Ranch Rifle. Holds zero great and no loosening of any of the screws even not using Loc Tight.

Here is the rig:

The CompC3 is a very good optic for the Ranch Rifle. Just as high quality as an H-1 (although larger) it is great for applications where size is not critical, as on a Mini. I've put about 200 rounds through the rifle with it and the results have been extremely satisfactory; limited only by my own limited skills.
Anyway, if you are trying to decide what kind of non-magnified optic to go with on your Ranch Rifle, this setup has worked well for me.

Tracer is an unknown quantity at this point
I would like to see the results of this set up, firing at 100 and 200 yards. Now will that scope hold up as well as a Leupold 1 X 4 in a Vari X-2?

Not sure what you mean by "hold up." In terms of durability, it is an Aimpoint, so no issues of recoil trashing it or anything.

The CompC3 is an unmagnified Red Dot Sight so my guess is that at 200 yards and probably 100 yards the Leupold scope will do better.

I mainly shoot at 25 meters so it works well for me. Great for putting Zombies down and whatnot.
